Global Aid and Relief

“One in 7 people do not get enough food to be healthy and lead an active life. Hunger and malnutrition are in fact the number one risk to the health worldwide — greater than AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined.” (WFP/ World Food Programme).  Obviously, hunger is an important issue that the world is facing on a daily basis.  Fortunately, I am glad to say that people are raising awareness about world hunger and are making an effort to change the future of world hunger so that more people will survive and be able to eat and live a healthy life.  For my public writing assignment, I am going to focus on the ways that the United Nation’s World Food Program policies and goals are making a difference in the lives of others by helping them have access to food. There are specific goals set for each year that are made to raise the standards of many people’s lives across the world that are currently starving due to malnourishment and lack of available food.  World hunger is extremely vital to address and understand because it affects everyone, no matter if they are personally starving or not.
